New York City - April 3rd, 1998
* As I watched the last rays of the sunset fade over the horizon, the view
literally took my breath away as I stood atop the Empire State building. I was
wondering then, just what kind of lives we were all living, how many thousands of people
were born and dead each day- yet how does civilization always manage to move itself
forward? I met my friend Steve on that day who would later become an important part
of my life.

'Animal Kingdom' Orlando, Florida, Walt Disney
World - May 23rd, 1998 * It was kinda really bumpy. The 4x4 ride I mean, right
through all those animals, jungle, and screaming kids around me. I have to admit
that seeing a part of Africa in the U.S. is still pretty impressive. It wasn't fun
getting reprimanded by an old lady just because I asked for a "straw" in the
food court. It wasn't like I was going to choke a flamingo with a straw or anything.

'Colosseum' Rome, Italy - September 13th, 1998
* Besides the fact that a gypsy sold me new camera batteries that lasted 3 minutes
for $15.00 US outside the Colosseum (I was desperate), the structure itself was
magnificent. Everything seems so different when you view it in real life- opposed to
seeing it flat in a book. If I had 3 wishes, one of them certainly would be to
travel back in time to witness everything that has long since become ashes.

'Notre Dame' Paris, France - June 13th, 1998
* I don't know how people could have raised a structure so beautiful, nor do I know
the reasons to why the stain glasses are so heart-wrenching to look at. But I do believe
there must have been some passion, whether it was for religion, a cause, or a personal
justification. And to create out of passion and belief is something I can
understand, because each time I've put faith in my own convictions, very little could pull
me down.

'Chaco Canyons' Four Corners, New Mexico -
August 23rd, 1998 * So there I was. Standing in the ruins of the first
civilization in North America where the Anasazi indians all mysteriously vanished around
500 A.D. You would think from the lack of water, scorching heat, constant sand
storms, and blinding light they would have gone some place else. But no, there were
people here. They had resurrected a city beneath the canyons carved right into the
sides of the rocks.

'Stone Henge' 120 miles west of London, in Wiltshire England
- June 14th, 1998 * I was digging for rocks. Just to say that I had a rock
from Stone Henge. Though I've read much of the superstitions, electro-magnetic
fields, and astro-religious theories.. I had paranormal experiences of my own. Was
it coincidence that it changed weather over 5 times in one hour? Was there even a
rock the size of my fist for even a 10 mile radius? Did my trust worthy camera blur
out my picture on purpose? I don't think so.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - January
9th,1998 * Of all the cities in the world I have been to, Vancouver remains to be my
favorite. The reasons are simple. It is a very clean city, has amazing
potential, virtually no pollution or crime, and a layout (downtown) between mountainous
peaks and the water front (false creek) to die for. But who was that guy in
'Numbers' (gay dance club) who smiled across the dim lit space at me for several minutes?
Or was I day dreaming that night...

'Pieta' Florence, Italy, Museo dell'opera del
Duomo - September 14th, 1998 * Not to be mistaken with the Pieta in St. Peter's
(Rome), this sculpture by Michelangelo was unfinished at his death. The depiction
and every chisel across the marble is life like in realism. I only pray that these
pieces will last for future generations.

'Duomo' Milan, Italy - September 15th, 1998
* This gothic church honestly rivaled Notre dame in every shape and style.
The Roman corinthian columns and robust arch ways are magnificent (understatement).
Many moments of contemplation and prayers for those I love filled my mind. My
direction in life could not have been more clearer.
